How we research
Our editorial standards for every video, guide and page on this site.
Who writes our content
Everything is written by Annesse Brockley and Kristin Urdiales. We are authors and patients with more than 30 years of lived experience, not medical professionals. We don’t give individual medical advice.
How we choose topics
We cover the questions people in our community ask most, especially when their symptoms don’t match their test results. Before we make a video, we check whether there is enough published research to explain the topic well.
Where our information comes from
We work from peer-reviewed studies found through PubMed, plus guidance from medical organizations such as the NIH, ACOG and the American College of Rheumatology. Every study behind a video is listed in its description, and each condition page lists its main sources.
How we show the strength of evidence
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Strong | Randomized trials or several consistent human studies |
| Some evidence | Smaller or observational human studies |
| Early research | Lab or animal studies only. Interesting, not proven in people |
Fact-checking
Every script goes through a separate fact-check pass against the original papers before it is recorded. Claims that a study doesn’t support are rewritten or removed.
What we won’t do
- Claim that food, tea or anything we sell prevents, treats or cures a disease
- Sell or recommend supplements
- Tell anyone to stop or change a medication
- Present lab or animal findings as proven in people
AI tools
Our videos use an AI narration voice and animated diagrams we build ourselves, and we label them as such. Every script and fact is reviewed by us.
Corrections and updates
Research changes. We review condition pages at least twice a year and show the date each page was last updated. If you spot an error, tell us through any of our channels and we will correct it.
Money
We earn from our own printables and books, and from some affiliate links. Affiliate partners never see or approve our content. Affiliate disclosure.
